Ira W. Heller, Esq

A native of Long Island, New York, Ira Heller brings an eclectic background to his practice of law. His initial training was in the field of clinical psychology; he then segued into a successful career as a concert performer. Having come from a family of attorneys, Ira is the son of Jacob W. Heller, who was well known as a master commercial litigator and founder of the prestigious Madison Avenue law firm Heller, Horowitz & Feit. After more than two decades in the music business, Ira went on to attend the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in New York City, and was admitted to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey. Ira spent several years working in commercial litigation at Heller, Horowitz & Feit, then took this valuable experience with him to New Jersey, where he established Ira Heller Law LLC, located in Union County. Since its inception, Ira Heller Law has quickly established a stellar reputation in the areas of immigration, family law, and general litigation matters. In addition to winning acclaim from his dozens of satisfied clients, Ira recently earned recognition in 2019 as being among the top 100 Trial Lawyers in the state of New Jersey, as selected by the Association of American Trial Lawyers (AOATL). On top of his dedication to his clients, Ira also finds time to give back to the community, having taught courses at his community High School in Constitutional Principles, and giving of his time as coach of their High School Mock Trial Team.


Julienne Maribao, Esq

A native of the Philippines, Julienne Maribao got her bachelor's degree in Political Science at University of the Philippines and earned a law degree at San Beda College of Law. She later immigrated to the United States and became a member of the California Bar. She began her legal career as a Legal Consultant at the Law Offices of Darren Silver. She then set up the Immigration Department at the Rann Law Firm, and worked as the department's lead attorney for two years. In 2005 she established her own practice, Maribao Lee Law Offices Inc., and for the next six years handled a wide variety of immigration cases. From 2011 to 2017 she worked as an in-house immigration and contracts attorney for DTI Services Inc., an internet and e-commerce company based in Los Angeles. More recently, she has worked as a Senior Immigration Attorney for a leading immigration law firm in Los Angeles. She is now "of counsel" to IHLI as of the end of 2019, bringing her impressive background in immigration law to our firm.

Behnaz Ashtari
Behnaz attended the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in New York City on a merit-based scholarship, graduating with an LL.M. degree. She joined Ira Heller Law LLC in 2019.

Originally a native of Iran, Behnaz attended Azad University in Teheran where she earned an LL.M. degree in criminal law and criminology, as well as an LL.B. degree (the equivalent of a J.D.). She practiced matrimonial and criminal law as a litigator in Iran for 10 years. Behnaz became a recognized expert on women's issues, appearing as lecturer or featured speaker on such topics as "Women as Leaders of the Democratization Process in the Middle East" and "Iranian Women's Situation: Present and Future", at international conferences held in Iran, United Arab Emirates and Turkey. She also authored a number of books and articles on the subject. Her groundbreaking work, Trafficking in Women: Contemporary Slavery was the first book on the subject published in the Persian language, and garnered several awards.

Behnaz is fluent in Farsi and English, and has a working knowledge of Arabic.
David Moro
Born in New York City, David Moro spent a total of 17 years living overseas - in Western Europe (France, Italy and Belgium), South America (Brazil) and Asia (Japan and the Philippines) - first while growing up, and later while in college and in the military. He became fluent in French, Italian, Portuguese and Russian along the way. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Williams College, taking off a year to study at the University of Leningrad. Upon graduation from college, David took a two-year job as an analyst for Morgan Stanley, then worked for the Defense Department as a consultant at the Strategic Concepts Development Center, housed at National Defense University. From 1984 to 1988 he served as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps, deploying to Okinawa and the Philippines. Following his military service, David worked for Philadelphia-based RAF Industries, then founded Ethnic-American Broadcasting Company (EABC), which eventually became the nation's largest non-Hispanic ethnic TV/radio broadcaster. Following the sale of EABC to Bell Canada, he founded RRN, an internet-based subscription radio station broadcasting in Russian, and later Manhattan Group, an advisory firm that raised capital for small to medium-sized private companies. David has written extensively on foreign affairs, and is founder of two non-profit organizations: The Residents' Committee to Protect the Adirondacks, and RULES NOW (Reform the U.S. Legal System), dedicated to criminal justice reform. He joined Ira Heller Law LLC in 2019.
Anna Hayrapetyan
A native of Yerevan, Armenia, Anna attended the Russian-Armenian Slavonic State University and earned a degree in International Relations. Soon thereafter she emigrated to the United States, and since 2015 has worked in Brooklyn in a number of positions with a focus on customer service, including: executive assistant for Wine Universe Corp., scheduling coordinator for EssenMed House Calls, and office manager for Advanced Surgery and Gynecology PLLC. Anna is fluent in English, Russian and Armenian.
Steve Kaitz
Steve Kaitz, a branding and marketing executive, brings 35 years of talent and experience to Ira Heller Law Immigration and its effort to reinvent the immigration service business. Armed with extensive knowledge of customer service and process management, Steve's mission is to take the "sting" and frustration out of the immigration process for our clients, and help IHLI trailblaze a new approach to serving them. This will include a well thought-out customer care system that always keeps clients informed as where their case stands; careful planning of next steps in the process, based on weighing of expected outcomes; and all this delivered at a fair and reasonable cost.
